Sunshine in Winter balm for dry skin, stress & courage
$16.00I wanted to create some special seasonal balms for the winter season that you could keep on your desk or kitchen counter or by your favorite chair or yoga mat to pamper yourself, or gift to loved ones, and my friend Jane of Golden Ginkgo Studios agreed to create some beautiful one-of-a-kind ceramic jars to hold them. She doesn’t typically do this so the jars are very special!

To use: Incorporate Sunshine in Winter into your daytime routine wherever it makes sense to you. Warm a tiny bit of the balm between your fingers and then rub it into dry skin as needed. The plants within also traditionally help with stress, courage, support of the emotional heart, and loving life. So you can also spend a bit more time with these wonderful local plants by rubbing a bit into your palms, cupping them over your nose and mouth, and breathing deeply, and rubbing them into your neck or feet. Maybe use as part of a yoga, prayer, or meditation practice. Always rub in thoroughly to avoid fabric stains.
Ingredients: Organic olive oil infused with Whidbey-grown wIld rose hips and rose petals, calendula flowers, Tulsi (holy basil), yarrow, and crab apple blossom and greater Whidbey-area Grand fir, plus Shea butter, local beeswax, and essential oils: 3 drops rose in jojoba oil and 2 drops of blood orange per tin.
Size and packaging: 2 ounces of balm either 1) within a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handmade-on-Whidbey Island, reusable ceramic jar (currently sold out) or in a gold, reusable, food-safe tin with twist-on lid. Traditional uses of the plants in this balm. Your experience of the plants in this balm may be remarkably different from ours: that's the nature of relationships with the living. Olive oil (from the Mediterranean), Shea butter (from Africa), and local beeswax (from the peninsula here in Washington state) are all traditional skin support, soothing, and softening. Rose hips and petals traditionally support the skin and emotional heart, help with feeling stressed and loving life. Calendula traditionally supports skin healing and nourishing. Grand fir traditionally relaxes the mind and muscles. Tulsi traditionally supports skin and internal organs and reduces stress. Yarrow is traditionally supportive of courage, skin inflamation and wounds, and digestion. Crab apple blossoms are traditionally supportive of love, helping with feelings of despair, and supportive of feelings of surprise and joy. Blood orange traditionally is supportive of stress reduction and overall mood improvement.
