PNW Cottonwood Bud soap

Do you know cottonwood buds? Their sticky, resinous, downright irresistible magic? If not, you should—they’re pure PNW enchantment. We gather these fragrant buds from fallen black cottonwood branches after winter and early spring windstorms here on Whidbey or along the Skagit River.

The buds infuse in organic olive oil for months (sometimes a year or more), releasing their deep, grounding, forest-sweet scent into every drop. We usually save this precious oil for our balms and body care, but once in a while, we make a small, coveted batch of soap for those who can’t get enough of its intoxicating aroma.

A rare treat for the cottonwood lovers and forest wanderers among us—earthy, golden, and full of the wild heart of the Pacific Northwest.

Ingredients: Windfall cottonwood buds infused into organic extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, sodium lactate, yellow clay, balsam poplar infused oil.
