Whidbey Douglas Fir body oil
$14.00We created this to sooth our spinning minds--the scent, tree presence, and self-massage into hands, temples, and shoulders combine to relax us. This oil can be used as a body oil and can also be used as a beard oil. It's a gift from central and south Whidbey forests for times when we don't have the time, access, or ability to walk in the woods to relax and rest.
We gather branches after winter windstorms drop them to the ground, and then cut up the branches and infuse them into organic extra virgin olive oil for 8 to 12 weeks, until the oil smells like our daily walks in the woods and feels like a soothing hug from a wise tree being when you rub it in. Here we use it to soften dry skin, to feel grounded, to relax and accept difficult news and painful history (the scent calms our minds and eases our tension and stress).
Ingredients: Whidbey windfall Douglas Fir branches (gathered after winter windstorms at Ritual Mischief & during walks in neighboring woods) infused into organic extra virgin olive oil for 8 to 12 weeks.
Storage, life of the product, and packaging: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. We make this oil available for retail sales in 1-ounce roller ball bottles and in 2-ounce amber pump-top bottles, because the shelf life of this precious fir-infused oil, with no chemicals or preservatives added, is only about 18 months max. We've also learned that plant-infused oils have minds of their own, so you may find that a tiny bit of oil pools under the bottle itself, so we recommend storing the bottle on a hard surface that you don't mind getting a teeny bit of oil on.
