Breathe set (balm + soap)
$4.50 $9.00This set includes one:
- Breathe chest rub balm. Holds Whidbey grown and ethically gathered stinging nettles, Douglas fir branches, white pine, purple dead nettle, and plantain infused into organic olive oil, local beeswax, and a few drops of trusted rosemary, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils.
- Breathe soap. Holds our locally grown and ethically gathered stinging nettles (two ways--infused in oil and steeped as tea), our own white horehound and rosemary, plus litsea and orange essential oils.
You can also opt to buy the items individually as you check out. Important: The rub was formulated for adults, not children. Although there is less than 1% essential oils in the chest rub (8 drops per tin), I personally don’t see the need for using any of these essential oils—which are strong—with children. I also don’t have children. Read the full medical disclaimer below and talk with your healthcare professional if you want to use the rub with children.
Our story: My nose gets a little sniffly with all the pollen around here in late spring or early summer, and occasionally when I have a cold. My sweetie has struggled with significant debilitating, seasonal allergies much of his life. We've worked with doctors, naturopathic doctors, and food allergy specialists. Avoiding some foods and drinks, making some different choices, and some experience-based approaches (taking a shower immediately after yard work or mowing the lawn and wearing long sleeves to help with grass allergies) have helped. And, he still gets stuffy and sniffly now and then during allergy seasons here. So we created this rub and this soap to help us and neighbors like us. They're for those with minor, periodic seasonal allergy and colds congestion, like me, and those like Daniel who've worked closely with medical and health experts to address underlying issues and understand their individual allergies.
Suggestions for use: We rub the balm on our chests or throats--ideally at times when we can rest and relax. I sometimes rub a bit in my palms and inhale. I also sometimes rub some into the soles of my feet before bed. When we shower, we use the soap to give our bodies and nasal passages a little extra love--this time the steam from the hot water helps with congestion, too. Avoid getting both the balm and the soap in your eyes.
Again, we recommend working with health professionals such as doctors, nurse practitioners, naturopathic doctors, clinical herbalists, allergy specialists, and homeopathic doctors to address underlying issues that may be making your congestion and seasonal allergies far worse than they have to be.
Rub ingredients (2-ounce size): Locally grown and ethically gathered stinging nettles, Douglas fir, white pine, purple dead nettle, and plantain infused into organic olive oil; local beeswax; rosemary, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils.
Soap ingredients (4-ounce size): Locally grown and ethically gathered stinging nettles (two ways--infused in organic olive oil and steeped in tea), plus our white horehound and rosemary infused into organic olive oil, plus organic coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil, sodium hydroxide, sodium lactate, organic aloe vera, a pinch of yellow clay, and litsea and orange essential oils.
Storage and life of the soap bar: To extend the life of the soap bar, store it where it can dry quickly after use and where it doesn't get regular spray from a faucet. Placing the bar on a soap holder or on a folded up wash cloth are both lovely ideas.
